The Smurfs live-action movie is officially underway, and we can’t wait to see what actors are going to be in it! For Vanity Smurf, they need someone who’s pretty, but not too pretty, so that– what? More Smurf Movie News

So, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the plot of the Smurf movie centers on a girl who, after receiving a toy Smurf as a present, discovers that it is a live Smurf. The rest of the movie revolves around her attempts to get the Smurf home. The Smurf is, predictably, Clumsy Smurf. Director Who Ruined Scooby Doo to Ruin the Smurfs

According to the BBC,

Scooby Doo director Raja Gosnell has signed up to make the animated Smurfs movie, according to trade paper The Hollywood Reporter. Producer Jordan Kerne, who has been working on the as-yet-untitled film for seven years, said Gosnell is a “brilliant director”. He added that Gosnell has a “deft touch in blending the worlds of physical comedy and honest emotion”.

I’d add that Gosnell is the guy who wrecked Scooby Doo. Anyway, you can read more here.
