Movie File has a photo-gallery of their suggestions for casting the new Smurfs live-action meeting. Here’s their lead in:
The Smurfs live-action movie is officially underway, and we can’t wait to see what actors are going to be in it! For Vanity Smurf, they need someone who’s pretty, but not too pretty, so that– what? The Smurfs will all be computer-generated? But… but we just wrote this whole big Smurf cast wish list! Oh, come on! So, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the plot of the Smurf movie centers on a girl who, after receiving a toy Smurf as a present, discovers that it is a live Smurf. According to the BBC,
Scooby Doo director Raja Gosnell has signed up to make the animated Smurfs movie, according to trade paper The Hollywood Reporter. Producer Jordan Kerne, who has been working on the as-yet-untitled film for seven years, said Gosnell is a “brilliant director”. He added that Gosnell has a “deft touch in blending the worlds of physical comedy and honest emotion”.
I’d add that Gosnell is the guy who wrecked Scooby Doo. Anyway, you can read more here.

The city of Swansea was turned blue as a group of 2,510 people, the majority of whom were students from the local university, crammed into the Oceana nightclub to almost double the previous record.
The event was organised by UK fancy dress costume seller Jokers’ Masquerade and was not verified until 1am as every “Smurf” had to be checked to make sure no natural skin was showing.
